Workers Confluence Labor Reception Builds Community

Workers Confluence Labor Reception Builds Community

June 25th, 2024

Many union delegates stayed late after June’s Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation’s quarterly meeting for a reception designed to spread the word more widely about Workers Confluence and the partnerships we support. Staff and/or members attended from more than 20 organizations, including unions, foundations, worker centers and other community groups.

MRLF President Chelsie Glaubitz-Gabiou MC’ed the brief program.

Organizers with Sex Worker Outreach Project of Minneapolis shared their report on the case for decriminalizing sex work.

But most of the time was reserved for mingling and relationship-building.

Organizers from Greater Minnesota Worker Center and Education Minnesota talked shop.

Guests (left to right) included representatives of the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers, Northwest Area Foundation, and LIUNA Local 363 (which represents city employees).

Representatives of IUPAT (the painters union), the Minneapolis Uber and Lyft Drivers Association. AFSCME, the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, and the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement were also in attendance (left to right).

Thanks to everyone who took part in this year’s reception. Our worker justice ecosystem is diverse, powerful, and now more connected than ever!
